Biography
Dr. S. Ramasamy is a seasoned academic and researcher with a PhD in Mixed Signal VLSI Systems from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India and M.E. in VLSI Design from the same institution. He holds a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has extensive experience in VLSI design, embedded systems, and AI applications.
He previously worked as a Technical Officer at NIT Trichy, where he successfully taped out two ICs in 180nm CMOS technology under a Ministry of Communications and Information Technology initiative. He later served as a professor at RMK Group of Institutions, coordinating AICTE-funded projects, including the Cognitive Radio Test Bed, and taped out another IC for Cognitive Radio. He has mentored award-winning projects in national-level contests such as ARM IoT, Texas Instruments, Synopsys IC Design, and Schneider Electric Design competitions. He also set up a System-on-Chip design lab with $1.5 million in sponsorship from ANDES Technology Corporation, Taiwan. He also served as a professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Ethiopia. He completed one International project for UNESCO on Prototype for water leakage detection using AI models.
Dr. Ramasamy’s recent work includes projects in Digital Twins, Industry 4.0, and AI/ML. Currently, he serves at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, leading funded projects in TinyML and Industry 5.0. An NVIDIA Ambassador and certified Deep Learning Instructor, he has guided two PhD scholars, published 20 journals, and presented over 30 conference papers.
