Prof. Seyed Mojtaba Sadrameli
Biography
Seyed Mojtaba Sadrameli is a Professor of Chemical (Process) Engineering at German University of Technology in Oman. He received his B.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology (SUT), Tehran in 1980, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from Leeds University, UK in 1984 and 1988. He joined the chemical engineering department of Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) in 1989 and retired in 2020 after thirty years of teaching, research and administration duties. During his sabbatical leave in the USA from 2003 to 2008, he worked on the production of hydrogen from biomass gasification at University of Florida and production of biojet fuel (JP8) from thermal cracking of triglycerides at University of North Dakota. His research interests spam wide areas of chemical engineering, industrial heat recovery, simulation of chemical and petrochemical processes, thermal energy storage systems using phase change materials (PCMs), and thermochemical production of biofuels from biomass feedstock. His current research activities involve encapsulation and application of phase change or smart materials for thermal energy storage systems such as solar cells, building materials, electrical appliances, lithium-ion batteries, etc…. and production of biofuels from thermal and catalytic cracking of biomass and plastic wastes.
Professor Sadrameli has taught different undergraduate and graduate courses and supervised more than 200 M.Sc. and Ph.D students, and postdoctoral fellows from different countries.
