Dr. Mounir Bouzguenda
Biography
Dr. Mounir Bouzguenda, an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at King Faisal University (KFU) in Saudi Arabia, earned his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1985 and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1988 and 1992, respectively. With a diverse teaching career spanning multiple countries, Dr. Bouzguenda has taught in the United States, Tunisia, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. His areas of expertise include power systems, smart grids, renewable energy integration, energy management, and power electronics. His research interests also cover hybrid energy systems, power quality, and electric vehicles. Dr. Mounir has led significant projects, such as the *Smart Grid Transition* in Oman and the *Grid Connected PV Station* in KSA. He has been instrumental in securing research funding for various projects in Oman, Tunisia, the U.S., and KSA, including the *Eco House Project* at Sultan Qaboos University and the *USB Charger Unification* project at KFU. Dr. Bouzguenda has published over 100 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and he holds two U.S. patents. Additionally, he has supervised numerous Ph.D. and M.Sc. students in electrical systems and power electronics. His contributions to KFU include leading the Electrical Engineering Department and playing a pivotal role in achieving accreditation for all five engineering programs at the university’s Technical College. Dr. Mounir is a Senior Member of IEEE.
